1 x 1.5 TPH, 10 Barg, Skid mounted Wet Back, 03 pass, Fire Tube Boiler for P & G Pakistan has been successfully commissioned and handed over to client.
RETROFIT JOB OF 30 TPH WATER TUBE BOILER FOR VIMPEX SYRIA
LMW has been awarded the services contract for 1 x 30 TPH, water tube boiler supplied to Vimpex Syria. The scope of services includes dismantling of existing membrane wall panels, installation of new panels (also fabricated by LMW) & replacement of coils for economizer. The team has been mobilized to Syria and work has initiated at site.

Seminar on High Pressure Coal & Biomass Boilers and Fluidized Bed Combustion Technology by Descon

A one-day seminar on High Pressure Coal and Bio Mass Boilers and Fluidized Bed Combustion (FBC) Technology was organized by Descon Engineering Limited on July 13, 2010 at Avari, Lahore. The objective was to discuss the country wide energy crisis and in-turn proposing solutions through the use of high pressure boilers and FBC technology.
The event was attended by nearly 100 delegates mainly from Sugar, textile, chemical & paper sector.
The seminar was also attended by high officials from AEDB, NEPRA, PPIB & boiler inspectorate of Pakistan.
Speakers from Descon, its technology partners ERK-Germany and Aiera-Germany gave presentations on the advantages of applications of high pressure corner tube boiler along with fluidized bed technology. Speakers also threw light on the different modern ways of combustion of solid and alternative fuels other than traditional fossil fuels.
As a whole, the seminar spoke clearly about the proactive approach of Descon towards the effectual utilization of solid fuels. Through this event, Descon communicated to the industry that dependable and advanced energy solutions are now available on local grounds as well through Descon.
HRSG Boilers
HRSG FOR FAUJI FERTILIZER MIRPUR METHALO PLANT
Fauji Fertilizer limited has shown their trust & confidence in Descon by placing the purchase order
of 1 x 30 TPH, 105 kg/cm², 510°C Heat recovery steam generator. It is a duct fired HRSG, which will
be installed against Turbomach T – 130 gas turbine & will be erected at Mirpur Methalo Plant of FFC.
The HRSG will be affixed with ASME S, A & PP stamps. DEL’s scope of work includes engineering, procurement,
fabrication & transportation to site along with civil works of foundations, erection and installation of HRSG.
HRSG FOR ENGRO CHEMICALS UREA EXPANSION PROJECT
01 x 150 TPH, 48 kg/cm2, 350ºC Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) for Engro Chemicals Pakistan Urea
Expansion project has been commissioned and is currently being operated on low load for plant flushing.
HRSG FOR DAWOOD HERCULES CHEMICALS LIMITED
The mechanical & electrical work of 01 x 46 TPH, 600 psig Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) for
Dawood Hercules Chemicals Limited (DHCL) has completed at site. The hydro test of the HRSG has been done
and the boiler is expected to be commissioned by the end of January, 2010.
Award of BHP Billiton Front End Compression Project Zamzama Dadu

Descon has been awarded the BHP Zamzama Front End Compression project at Dadu, Sindh Pakistan. The award
manifests the BHP Billiton's confidence in Descon as it the third project in line that has been awarded to
the company. Descon has been the contractor for Phase 1& 2 construction works.The current scope of work
includes all construction disciplines. In addition to construction Descon Lahore Manufacturing Works has
been awarded the contract for process equipment manufacturing & supply.
Celebrating Completion of 100th Pressure Vessel Fabrication in Descon Engineering FZE

Descon’s Hamriyah manufacturing works has lately completed fabrication of its 100th pressure vessel.
Manufacturing of pressure vessels at HMW began in June 2008. In the short span of about fifteen months
one hundered pressure vessels have been manufactured. The total weight of these vessels combines upto
around 2500 tons and total length welded goes up to 10200 meters.
Project Awarded for HP/LP Vessels and Exchangers of BHP
Descon has been awarded a project for the supply of HP/LP Vessles and Air Cooled Heat
Exchangers for FEC Zamzama Project. It is the fourth consecutive order with BHP.
The project has been awarded on the basis of Descon as a preferred vendor for BHP.
This order will be delivered from Lahore Manufacturing Works.
Descon wins ASU Project in UAE
Elixier a JV of ADNOC and Linde has awarded Descon the civil and mechanical works of ASU Mirfa 1 Project
in Abu Dhabi. Work on the project is scheduled to start in July and will be completed in the first quarter
of 2011.
The Linde Group and ADNOC have decided to construct two large air separation units (ASU) through their
joint venture Elixier. The new plants will be connected to the utility and pipeline network and will
supply nitrogen for injection into the onshore condensate field in Habshan in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi
to free natural gas for the national grid. The two air separation plants will have a total nitrogen
capacity of 670,000 standard cubic meters per hour.
Descon strengthen its Heavy Lifting Capacity

Descon has recently added a heavy crane1200 tons (Gottwald AK912) to its vast resource base of equipment.
This truck mounted crane is a strategic asset for the company and would be of great advantage for heavy lifts
and rigging projects for the end users in the region. The crane is currently deployed at Bosicor Refinery
Pakistan and it will later be moved to Engro Chemicals Pakistan where construction works are underway for
the largest Ammonia Urea Complex in Asia.
Desalination Plant Project Awarded to Descon, Qatar

Descon has been awarded the electro-mechanical erection works of the Desalination plant which is part of the Ras
Laffan “C” IWPP Power Project in Qatar. Sidem, France is the EPC contractor for this plant. The project will be
completed in the first half of 2010. The main work comprises of the installation and piping of the Evaporators.
This is the third IWPP being step up by under Ras Laffan Power Company. This plant will provide 2,730MW of
electricity and more than 286,000 cubic meters of desalinated water a day, making it the largest such plant
in Qatar.
